Renee Braune, MA, MS, LPC, LIMHP

As a licensed professional counselor, supervisor, and founder of the Let's Talk Therapy Foundation, I have spent my career advocating for survivors of trauma, supporting families through life's most difficult moments, and helping develop the next generation of mental health professionals. My work has shown me that healing is possible, but it has also revealed the significant barriers that prevent both therapists and clients from accessing the resources they need.

The vision for Let's Talk Therapy Foundation was born from two realities I witness every day. The first is that high-quality clinical training is often financially out of reach for many therapists, particularly students, associates, and early-career clinicians who are eager to grow but lack the resources to invest in specialized education. The second is that countless individuals and families who desperately want therapy simply cannot afford it.

As I began supervising counseling students, I saw another gap that deserved attention. Many aspiring therapists want to serve underserved communities, yet financial constraints often require them to choose paid opportunities over community-based work. I envisioned a model where therapists could receive financial support while gaining meaningful clinical experience serving populations that might otherwise go without care. Investing in therapists ultimately means investing in the quality and accessibility of mental health care for everyone.

The Let's Talk Therapy Foundation was created to bridge these gaps by supporting therapist education, expanding access to quality mental health services, and strengthening the future of the counseling profession. I believe that when we invest in clinicians, we improve the care available to entire communities. And when we remove financial barriers to therapy, we give more people the opportunity to heal.

My hope is that this foundation becomes more than an organization, it becomes a movement toward making excellent mental health care and exceptional therapist training accessible, equitable, and sustainable for generations to come.
